Dr. Espy is the president of OB-GYN Associates and has been with the practice since 1967. He specializes in in-office ablation and sterilization, as well as laparoscopic specialized procedures, and in the past few years has received such awards as the Georgia Tech Woodruff Alumnus of the Year Award (2004), being named to the Consumers Research Council of America Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists (2007), and Strathmore's Who's Who in America, among several others. Dr. Espy is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American College of Surgeons, the Royal Society of Medicine, and the American College of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, as well as a member of several other professional organizations, including the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Southern Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the Medical Association of Georgia, and the Cobb County Medical Society. Dr. Espy currently serves on the advisory board of the Georgia Tech School of Bio-Engineering and as the director of the Marietta Surgical Center.
Dr. Espy is active in the medical community at home and abroad having served in the Visiting Professor Program at Georgia Tech, as a resident lecturer in the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital OB/GYN Department, and as a Venue Medical Officer during the Atlanta Olympic Games. In addition to being a partner of Global Hope for Iraq and the chairman of Flying Doctors of America, Dr. Espy is currently involved in a mission to Iraq to initiate a mammogram and pap smear center.
Outside of the office, Dr. Espy enjoys marathons and has run 70, including four Boston Marathons and 30 New York Marathons.
