As everyone is probably aware, the Swine Flu is expected to reach epidemic proportions.
The H1N1 virus is easily transmissable among humans, and evidence suggests that this influenza can be more severe in pregant women and infants.
Please call our office if you have come into direct contact with a person who has the H1N1 virus or similar symptoms. What may appear to be a common cold may actually be the early onset of the virus. We ask that anyone who is ill, please do not come into the office so that we may minimize exposure to the virus. If medical care is needed, please go to Kennestone Hospital or an Urgent Care facility.
The standard flu vaccine is now available. We encourage all of our patients to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Our office is due to receive enough H1N1 vaccine to be able to vaccinate all of our pregnant patients. We will inform you when the vaccine will be administered.
